What is Hybrid Flooring?
Does Laminate Flooring Scratch Easily?
What is the Difference Between the Flooring Types?
Laminate Flooring is constructed of high density fibre (HDF), topped with a printed image layer with a backboard and a final transparent layer designed to withstand wear.
Vinyl Flooring is a totally synthetic flooring made of fibreglass and vinyl. This means, unlike other flooring, it can be totally waterproof (depending on the installation process).
Hybrid flooring is a hybrid between laminate and vinyl flooring. Made with a Stone Polymer Core, it comes with an acoustic dampening underlay and requires very minimal installation process like laminate. Hybrid flooring is steam proof (not 100% waterproof), as stated by many manufacturer’s. Hybrid Flooring is suitable for ‘wet areas’ such as Bathrooms, vanities and laundries, but our recommended flooring for these areas are tiles, which are the most water-proof and easiest to maintain.
Engineered Timber Flooring is a thin layer of timber veneer on top, ranging from 0.3mm to 6mm veneers, with an inner core made of either a multiply or hevea core. These 2 inner cores are the preferred inner cores, as they offer better stability and strength than pine. These have the appearance and texture of solid timber without the cost of solid timber flooring.
