The short answer is that there isn’t any laminate flooring on the market that’s totally scratch proof. It’s just a fact that any flooring material, from natural wood to engineered timber or hybrid flooring, can be damaged. However, there are a few factors that will determine how resistant your laminate is to damage.
The answer is both yes and no. Laminate flooring that’s 8mm with a medium density fibre (MDF) core is used by a lot of big retail stores and builders that work on big-volume projects. It’s essentially a mass-market product and is popular.
Laminate flooring is a flooring made up of several layers. Each layer provides a different function, from stopping the echo of footsteps with the backing to a durable, UV-resistant finish on the top.
One of the many benefits of laminate flooring is its durability. Our laminate comes in a number of hardnesses, with AC3 through to AC5 being the most durable. AC3 is great for domestic use, while AC5 is rated for commercial use, like foyers or shops. This means our laminate is able to withstand kids, pets, furniture and heavy foot traffic.
