Engineered timber flooring is comprised of 2 layers: a plywood or hardwood base covered with a veneer of real timber. This means increased durability, convenience and aesthetic choices at a lower price point than solid timber.

When temperature and humidity fluctuate rapidly, solid timber is at risk of creaking, buckling or splitting, as it absorbs moisture much more readily than the plywood core of engineered flooring.
Engineered timber flooring also allows for a much wider range of colours, textures and designs than standard solid timber, due to the ability to select more wood types, as well as apply stains and finishes.
